With the Toronto Maple Leafs having over a rumored $7.5 million in cap space because of LTIR, they will be looking to make trades.

With the Toronto Maple Leafs recent acquisition of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Riley Nash and putting him on LTIR, the Leafs are freeing up salary cap space to make a few more moves by Mondays NHL Trade Deadline.

With Frederik Andersen being added to LTIR, the Leafs have around $7.5 million in cap space to use for trades. So what are the Leafs needs?

With Andersen injured, the Maple Leafs will be looking to add a goalie. The team will likely target Calgary Flames goalie David Rittich as the Flames will be sellers at this years trade deadline. The 2nd option for the Leafs will be Linus Ullmark who has actually played well for the horrible Buffalo Sabres.

With the great play of Alex Galchenyuk, GM Kyle Dubas might have changed his mind about finding another top 6 forward and target a player with a little more grit with playoff experience. Dubas could target Nick Foligno or Sam Bennett.

No matter what the Leafs do, they will be looking to add at the NHL trade deadline with the team putting Freddy Andersen on LTIR to free up a bunch of cap room.
