The Buffalo Sabres sit last in the East division, the off-season addition of Taylor Hall has not helped the team and Jeff Skinner not showing any offensive production at a $9 million cap hit has been another HUGE disappointment.

There were NHL trade rumors last year that Jack Eichel wanted out of Buffalo. Those rumors have started again with the slow start the Sabres have had.

Elliotte Friedman was on WGR550 in Buffalo and was chatting about the Buffalo Sabres. Friedman was asked if a trade of Jack Eichel was possible. Friedman simply stated, yes!

Friedman went on to say, ‘But what I was told was, the Sabres just said ’we are not ready to do this. We are not ready.’ Teams made offers, it was communicated that he was restless. I don’t think he ever asked for a trade, I don’t think it got that far. But he was restless and teams knew it. The Sabres took some offers and said ’no we’re not ready to do this.

Eichel, 24, is signed through the 2025-26 season. The New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings would be teams that could afford his $10 million cap hit and have the assets in their origination to make a trade.
