NHL Trade Rumors have the Philadelphia Flyers looking for defensive help ahead of the NHL trade deadline. They are rumored to be looking at Nashville Predators Mattias Ekholm and Columbus Blue Jackets David Savard.

Pierre LeBrun reports the team is also weighing their options of adding another goaltender before the trade deadline. Carter Hart has struggled this year posting an 8-9-3 record this season with a .869 save percentage and a 4.04 goals-against average.

LeBrun states, “One name to retain if they do decide to add a goalie: Jonathan Bernier, I believe, [is] on the radar of the Flyers. He is a pending unrestricted free agent for Detroit.”

Bernier, 32, is a pending unrestricted free agent, carrying a cap hit of $3 million.

The Flyers are looking to be buyers and not sellers at the NHL trade deadline so it will be interesting to see what they do?
