If Andres Lee is out long-term for the New York Islanders, GM Lou Lamoriello will target a scoring forward like Taylor Hall.

With the long-term injury to Anders Lee the New York Islanders will be looking to fill his void for a scoring winger. NHL Trade Rumors are going around that the Islanders could target Taylor Hall.

Arthur Staple of the Athletic suggests, “If the Islanders could somehow get the Sabres to take defenseman Thomas Hickey along with a first- or second-round pick (or two seconds), they’d be able to replace their top wing with the top wing available.”

With Lee’s long-term injury and him being placed on LTIR, that free’s up the cap space to take on Hall’s contract. The Islanders sit first in the tough East division and will want to make a significant addition to make a run at the Stanley Cup.

If Hall is not an option for GM Lou Lamoriello, he could target New Jersey’s Kyle Palmieri. Other options for Lou are Filip Forsberg and Rikard Rakell. Either way, NHL rumors will start to heat up for the Isles to find a scoring forward if Lee is out till the playoffs or longer.
