Tyler Toffoli will be a prime trade candidate at the 2022 NHL trade Deadline for teams looking for a proven playoff performer.

The Montreal Canadiens have been in the NHL trade rumors mill quite often this season because of how badly they have played, they are out of playoff contention and the team is hoping to finish near the bottom of the league for a chance to draft Shane Wright. ( Might be even better to tank next year to draft Connor Bedard )

Eric Engels of Sportsnet reports Tyler Toffoli will be a 2022 NHL trade deadline candidate for teams. Even though he is currently out from hand surgery, teams will have interest in making a Toffoli trade.

Engels went on to say, Toffoli is a player who helps get you to the playoffs and helps get you through them, so you have to think teams making a push for the playoffs—and Cup contenders—will be interested.

Toffoli does not own a no-trade clause so there will be no restrictions on a trade and with his team friendly salary cap hit of $4.25 million for the next two years, teams will be interested.
