Will the Toronto Maple Leafs trade Frederik Andersen at the NHL trade deadline?

It is looking like there is a goalie controversy brewing in Toronto. Frederik Andersen has not been great lately and when Jack Campbell has been healthy, he has been stellar.

Toronto Star’s Mark Zwolinski reports with the NHL trade deadline less than a month away and Andersen’s contract that runs out at season’s end, there’s talk that the Leafs should trade Andersen despite his history of regular-season success.

The question is, what could the Toronto Maple Leafs get for a struggling goalie on an expiring contract. Most teams that will be sellers at the NHL trade deadline are looking for top prospects and draft picks.

The Leafs are better to keep Andersen, even if he is the backup and let Campbell play a good stretch of games to see what he can do while Andersen gets his focus and confidence back.

NHL Trade Rumors have the Leafs seeking a top-6 forward at the trade deadline. Though they should be focusing on adding more grit to the team for a good playoff run.
