GM Bryan Murray could not get a trade completed for either player as the asking price was too high. He was asking for a 1st round draft pick and top prospect for each player.
As the Ducks are in full re-build mode, they will look at trading Rackell and Manson this off-season. Murray will also sit down with Ryan Getzlaf and ask what he wants to do? Will he stay will the team and help with a rebuild? Or will he be traded to a Stanley Cup contender in hopes of winning another Stanley Cup.
One interesting trade that could happen in the off-season for the Ducks is trading their goaltender John Gibson. NHL rumors are going around that Gibson does not want to be part of a rebuilding team and the Ducks appear to be years away from being a contender.
The Colorado Avalanche and Pittsburgh Penguins were a few of the teams that had interest in Gibson at the trade deadline.
