The Pittsburgh Penguins and Colorado Avalanche are showing interest in Anaheim Ducks goalie John Gibson.

Would the Anaheim Ducks part with John Gibson? Does John Gibson want to stay in Anaheim? Gibson is on the 2nd year of an 8-year $51.2 million contract.

NHL trade rumors are going around that Gibson does not want to be part of a rebuilding team and the Ducks appear to be years away from being a contender.

Gibson is an elite goalie and it would not be easy to get the Ducks to part with him, and he would likely cost a lot if a team were to make a trade for him.

Colorado is one of the teams interested in Gibson. Would would it cost? The Ducks would likely ask for Cale Makar, but that would likely not happen. They would want Bowen Byram plus a prospect for Gibson. The trade would give the Avalanche top-tier players on offense, defense, and in net.

Trade rumors also going around have the Pittsburgh Penguins in search of a goalie. They tried to trade for Marc-Andre Fleury with no luck. The Penguins are rumored to be interested in Gibson, but they would have to shed salary and do not have any elite prospects to offer like the Avalanche do.
