NHL rumors floated in the offseason that Nils Lundkvist had requested a trade out of New York. He knew there was no way his was cracking the Rangers lineup and wanted a chance somewhere else.
He finally got his wish and was traded to the Dallas Stars.

Nils Lundkvist, 22, was selected 28th overall by the Rangers at the 2018 NHL Draft.
Lundkvist spent the previous three seasons with Lulea in Sweden, winning the Salming Trophy as defenceman of the year in 2020-21.Â
