Nils Lundkvist traded to Dallas
The Dallas Stars have acquired Nils Lundkvist from the New York Rangers for a 2023 1st round pick & a 2025 4th round draft pick.

NHL rumors floated in the offseason that Nils Lundkvist had requested a trade out of New York. He knew there was no way his was cracking the Rangers lineup and wanted a chance somewhere else.

He finally got his wish and was traded to the Dallas Stars.

What did the New York Rangers get in the Nils Lundkvist trade?

The New York Rangers received a 2023 1st round pick (Top 10 protected) & a 2025 4th round draft pick (becomes 3rd with 55 points next 2 seasons)

It was reported earlier this offseason that the Montreal Canadiens had offered their 2023 second round draft pick for Lundkvist but GM Chris Drury was seeking a first round pick.


Nils Lundkvist, 22, was selected 28th overall by the Rangers at the 2018 NHL Draft.

Lundkvist spent the previous three seasons with Lulea in Sweden, winning the Salming Trophy as defenceman of the year in 2020-21.
