The Calgary Flames are a team that will look to make some trades at the NHL trade deadline for a playoff run. NHL trade rumors are circulating that the Flames could target Tomas Hertl or Tyler Toffoli.
Hailey Salvian of The Athletic reports the Flames should target Tomas Hertl. He is a number one centre and will make the Flames a better team. The problem is, Hertl will cost a lot, at least a first-round pick and a solid NHL prospect. Calgary will not be the only suitor for Hertl either.
Salvian also mentions the Flames could target Montreal Canadiens forward Tyler Toffoli. This would be a hockey trade and not a rental. Toffoli in under contract until 2023-24 with a cap hit of $4.25 million and does not own a no-trade clause.
If the Flames can’t make a trade for Hertl or Toffoli, Salvian mentions Calgary could target the Habs Christian Dvorak, the Senators Chris Tierney or Detroit’s Vladislav Namestnikov.
