Max Comtois struggled with the Anaheim Ducks this year which resulted in him being a healthy scratch multiple times after putting up a team-leading 16 goals and 33 points in the shortened 2020-21 season.
Eric Stephens of The Athletic reports Comtois found his name in the NHL trade rumors mill this season, where management felt a fresh start somewhere else was needed to get Comtois back on track with his career.
Stephens went on to say, Comtois would rather stay in Anaheim than be traded, but he does not own a no-movement clause and feels his size, being physical, going to the net only helps his Ducks teammates.
Comtois, 23, was drafted 50th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2nd round of the 2017 NHL entry draft. Over a career that spans 4 seasons, he has a total 67 points in 146 games played.
