The Vancouver Canucks need to shed salary and NHL rumors have circulated since Christmas that Vancouver could trade J.T. Miller, Brock Boeser or Conor Garland. A new name has now appeared in the Canucks rumor mill…
Elliotte Friedman was on Vancouver’s radio station CHEK and stated on the show he expects the Canucks to try to be aggressive this offseason, and that could involve trying to trade Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
Ekman-Larsson, 31, has five years left on his contract with a $7.26 million AVV against the Canucks salary cap. OEL does have a full no-movement clause, so if a trade is to happen, he will have to approve it.
Ekman-Larsson was drafted 6th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 1st round of the 2009 NHL entry draft. Over a career that spans 12 seasons, he has a total 417 points in 848 game played, and 8 playoffs points in 25 games played.
