The Minnesota Wild have got themselves into salary cap hell with the buyouts of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter for the next three years and that could result in the Minnesota Wild trading one of Matt Dumba or Kevin Fiala.

2026-27: $1,666,666 million
2027-28: $1,666,666 million
2028-29: $1,666,666 million

James O’Brien of NBC Sports reports it is very possible Dumba will be traded in the offseason to clear Minnesota Wild salary cap space.

Dumba has been in the NHL rumor mill before and he will attract a plethora of teams if the Wild make him available. The last time a Dumba trade rumor came up, GM Bill Guerin was looking for a #1 center in return.

If the Wild do decide to keep Dumba, then Kevin Fiala could be a casualty of the salary cap and be moved this summer. Fiala is having a career year and will be a restricted free agent in the summer. Re-signing Fiala will not be cheap and it might be too much for the Wild to take on.

Fiala has been linked to the the Vancouver Canucks in past NHL trade rumors.
