The Evander Kane signing has tuned out better than many expected for the Edmonton Oilers. It has turned out so well the Oilers will be looking at re-signing Kane this offseason.
Bob Stauffer was on his radio show with Elliotte Friedman and he floated out the idea that the Oilers could look at signing Kane to a four year, $16 million contract extension.
The problem the Oilers will have like many other teams is fitting Kane’s new contract into the Oilers salary cap. They will likely have to move out a piece of their current roster to re-sign Kane.
Kane, 30, was drafted 4th overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in the first round of the 2009 entry draft. Kane has a total 529 points in 796 games played, and 13 playoffs points in 29 games played.
