John Gibson’s name was in the NHL trade rumors mill last offseason with a handful of teams interested in making a trade but nothing materialized.
Elliotte Friedman was on Edmonton’s local radio station 630 CHED and reported the NHL Entry draft and this summer’s free agent frenzy will be wild. He expects there to be some big name players on the move.
Friedman went on to say, the Ducks will sit down with John Gibson and discuss his future and if he wants to be part of a rebuild? If not, he will likely seek a trade.
Gibson is signed till the 2026-27 season with a Ducks salary cap hit of $6.4 million. He does own a 10 team modified no-trade clause. Gibson, 28, was drafted 39th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2nd round of the 2011 entry draft.
