The Vancouver Canucks will trade Tanner Pearson at the NHL trade deadline if a contract extension cannot be worked out.

Darren Dreger was on TSN’s Insider Trading and was asked, what will the Vancouver Canucks do with Tanner Pearson?

Pearson is set to become a unrestricted free agent this summer and the Canucks will not want to loose him for nothing if they cannot get him signed to a contract extension.

Dreger has stated that no contract negotiations or discussions have started with Pearson’s camp. GM Jim Benning wants to get the process started ASAP for the simple reason to understand whether there’s a contractual fit between Pearson and the Vancouver Canucks. If nothing can be agreed upon, Pearson will be traded at the 2021 NHL Trade Deadline.

NHL Rumors have also posted that the Canucks are looking at trading Jake Virtanen with the Boston Bruins and Anaheim Ducks showing interest.
