Will the Chicago Blackhawks entertain trade offers on Patrick Kane? He will waive his no-move clause to a playoff contender.

Are the Chicago Blackhawks exploring the idea of trading Patrick Kane at the NHL trade deadline? NHL trade rumors are starting to circulate that this could be the case.

Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek Radio Show and reports, one of the situations that I think is going to be very interesting to watch is going to be Patrick Kane in Chicago. Teams are starting to call the Blackhawks about the availability of Kane.

Friedman went on to say, teams have been asking about him. I think teams have asked the Blackhawks, ‘What are you doing with Kane? Is there any chance he can be available?’

If Kane feels the Blackhawks will be going into a full rebuild mode, he will likely ask for a trade and waive his full no-movement clause to a playoff team.

Kane has a hefty $10.5 million cap hit that expires at the end of next season. It is likely he is traded in the offseason rather then at the NHL trade deadline as teams will know more about their salary cap situation in the summer.
