Will the Colorado Avalanche trade Nazem Kadri this off-season or let him be exposed in the Seattle Kraken expansion draft?

With Nazem Kadri receiving an 8-game suspension for his hit to the head of St. Louis Blues defenceman Justin Faulk, NHL Rumors are starting to circulate that Kadri could be traded this off-season.

Peter Baugh of The Athletic is reporting with the Colorado Avalanche having two young centers in Tyson Jost and Alex Newhook looking to move their way up in the lineup which could make Kadri available.

Baugh went on to say the Avs will have to shed some salary this off-season in order to re-sign captain Gabriel Landeskog, goaltender Philipp Grubauer and defenseman Cale Makar. Trading Kadri would free up the much needed space they need.

The other option is to leave Kadri exposed in the Seattle Kraken expansion draft, but that would mean losing Kadri for nothing. The Avs would like to have some assets in a trade rather than lose him for nothing.

It will be interesting to see what GM Joe Sakic does this off-season. Kadri does have a 10 team no-trade-clause.
