Eric Francis of Sportsnet is reporting that some off-season changes will be coming for the Calgary Flames. Francis wonders if GM Brad Treliving will be back next season?

Francis feels the Flames need an overhaul and that means likely trading Johnny Gaudreau. Gaudreau, 27, has one year left on his contract before he can walk into free agency. Do the Flames want to risk losing Gaudreau for nothing?

Earlier in the year NHL Trade Rumors were reporting that the Philadelphia Flyers had interest in Gaudreau. Currently there are no restrictions on trading Gaudreau, but on July 28 a clause in his contract limits the number of possible trade destinations to the five teams of his choosing.

Trading Gaudreau might be tough this off-season as trading stars isn’t easy in a flat cap era, especially when a player’s stock has been low for the bulk of two seasons.

Other NHL Rumors floating around for the Calgary Flames are the New York Rangers having interest in Matthew Tkachuk.
