Now that the NHL trade deadline has passed, the NHL trade rumors still go on. Last week is was rumored that the Edmonton Oilers had interest in a Jake Allen trade but a deal could never be worked out.
TVA Sports reports Jake Allen was not going to be traded atthe deadline unless GM Kent Hughes got the price he was looking for.
With teams in need of a goalie, Allen could be in demand in the offseason if he puts up good numbers for rest of the season.
Allen was quoted after the NHL trade deadline, “I was confident that I would stay here until the end of the season. This is where I wanted to be. I didn’t want to be traded.”
Allen, 31, is signed until the 2022-23 season with a Habs salary cap hit of $2,875,000. Allen was drafted 34th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 2nd round of the 2008 entry draft.
