James Reimer will be a restricted free agent (RFA) this summer.
The question everyone is asking, will the Toronto Maple Leafs trade Reimer or re-sign him?
Reimer saved the day for the Leafs last night in Los Angeles after Jonathan Bernier left the game with a lower body injury. Reimer has showed why the Leafs need him in case Bernier goes down with a injury for a long period of time.
Re-signing Reimer will come down to how much money he is looking for and can the Leafs afford Reimer?
If the Leafs can’t afford Reimer, they will trade him, but who would become the new backup goalie that the Leafs can depend on?
James Reimer is far from a dud and it’s Leaf fans like you that are going to be the reason he leaves. If he had half the support from both management and coach Carlyle the results would be different. There was no reason to bring Bernier here…The tandem of Scrivens and Reimer worked well. People that blame Reimer for game 7 collapse are a joke. Hockey is a team sport and just like this year our defense let us down big time. Reimer shut the door in Los Angeles and no one said anything…fans attack Reimers wife on twitter and hardly anyone defended hin which is a joke. He comes in cold versus Boston when bernier got hurt and shut the door again. Bernier comes back same losing result. Macintyre comes in same losing result.
Reimer deserves better then Toronto.
Chris you know nothing ab out fans of the toronto maple leafs before you were born I was watching the leafs play and I remember them winning the Stanley cup and when I see for “all these years this team has fans has the money. But they have not done anything more than yap and yap like nonis who does nothing when to trade or free agency same bs every year the only time I know when they got somewhere was when Fletcher made there trade players with heart like Gilmore and I said enough.
