Since news broke earlier this offseason that St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko had requested a trade, a lot of NHL Rumors have been floating around.
Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff reports everyone has done and said the right things, playing nice in the sandbox – but that doesn’t change the fact that Tarasenko still strongly desires a trade.
Seravalli went on to say, If Tarasenko gets off to a hot start, a trade could well materialize. Tarasenko has let it be known he is finally healthy after two botched shoulder surgeries.
Tarasenko has two years remaining on his contract at a $7.5 million cap hit, while next season’s actual cash payment drops down to $5.5 million.
Rumors in the offseason had the Anaheim Ducks as a team with serious interest in Tarasenko. If he can prove he is healthy after the first twenty games a trade could very well happen in late November.
