Now that the free agency frenzy period is over and teams have solidified their teams, the Vegas Golden Knights are still searching for a #1 center.
Nicolas J. Cotsonika of NHL.com reports the Golden Knights still need a No. 1 center. GM Kelly McCrimmon has stated the Golden Knights are happy with their centers after adding two this offseason in Nolan Patrick and Brett Howden, and Peyton Krebs could crack the roster.
Cotsonika went on to say, Patrick is slated for the bottom six but could benefit from a change of scenery. Don’t be surprised if he eventually moves into the top six to play with Mark Stone.
Vegas will likely start the season with the lineup projected below and likely make a move for a #1 center at some point during the season or at the 2022 NHL trade deadline.
Here is the Vegas Golden Knights Project lineup:
Max Pacioretty — Chandler Stephenson — Mark Stone
Jonathan Marchessault — William Karlsson — Reilly Smith
Mattias Janmark — Nolan Patrick — Evgenii Dadonov
William Carrier — Brett Howden — Nicolas Roy
Alec Martinez — Alex Pietrangelo
Brayden McNabb — Shea Theodore
Nicolas Hague — Zach Whitecloud
