NHL Trade Rumors are still going around that the Toronto Maple Leafs would like to add a top-6 forward at the NHL Trade Deadline.
During the first intermission of the Toronto Maple Leafs- Calgary Flames game, the TSN panel discussed what players will the Leafs target?
Darren Dreger feels the Leafs could target Sam Bennett of the Calgary Flames. Jeff O’Neill stated Toronto should target Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno as he has grit to go along with a scoring touch. Dave Poulin said the Leafs should go after Kyle Palmieri.
Before you say, the Leafs have no salary cap space. For any trade to happen, salary will have to be moved out and the likely candidate is Alex Kerfoot.
For the Leafs to land the player they want, Kerfoot will be traded along with a sweetner, whether that be a prospect or draft pick, the Leafs will package something together to land the forward they are targeting.
