The Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins and New York Islanders have an interest in trading for New Jersey Devils Kyle Palmieri.

Kyle Palmieri was being held out of today’s games for precautionary reasons. Looks like there is a trade on the horizon.

The New Jersey Devils and Palmieri met over the weekend to discuss a contract extension and it appears an agreement could not be worked out.

Darren Dreger was on the Toronto Maple Leafs broadcast this evening and was asked about the Palmieri situation. Dreger stated, “Kyle Palmeri will be traded this week, it is believed the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins and New York Islanders could be possible destinations.”

Sunday’s scratch is not an indicator that a trade is imminent, but it means the team is certainly serious about listening to offers for the right winger.

With the Devils again in position to sell at the 2021 NHL trade deadline this season, other pending unrestricted free agents could be targets for other teams. Ryan Murray, Dmitri Kulikov, Sami Vatanen and Travis Zajac are all in the final years of their contracts
