With six losses in their last seven games the Calgary Flames will now turn their attention to doing what seemed unfathomable three months ago: They will be sellers at the NHL Trade Deadline.
The one player that teams will be calling Calgary about is Sam Bennett. It was reported earlier this season that Bennett had requested a trade and that request might come true in a week.
Bennett has played well under new coach Darryl Sutter, he can play a shutdown role, play minutes on the power play and is great on the face-off. He also proved he can put up points in playoff hockey after putting up 19 points in 30 career playoff games.
Eric Francis of Sportsnet is reporting Bennett, Derek Ryan and David Rittich will be shopped at the trade deadline.
