The latest NHL trade rumors chatter has the New York Rangers making a trade for Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane. The Rangers are one of the few teams that have young blue chip players to make a trade of this magnitude.
Larry Brooks of the New York Post states the Rangers would likely have to part with Kaapo Kakko, Nils Lundkvist, Vitali Kravtsov and a 2022 first round pick.
Brooks went on to say, it would give the Rangers a “Super Line” with Kane playing with Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome on the first line.
The Rangers have positioned themselves into a Stanley Cup contending team and making a big move like this would only help bringing Broadway their second Stanley Cup in eight decades.
Patrick Kane does own a no-movement clause and would decide if he wants to be traded. He has a $10.5 million salary cap hit, so a third team like the Arizona Coyotes might have to get involved to help eat some of Kane’s salary for a trade to happen.
