With NHL trade rumors circulating that Jake DeBrusk has requested a trade, could the Calgary Flames offer up Nikita Zadorov for DeBrusk?

A few weeks ago, NHL trade Rumors were circulating that Jack DeBrusk had requested a trade from the Boston Bruins, where he feels a change of scenery will do him well.

Steve Macfarlane of Calgary Hockey Now reports the Calgary Flames should contact the Boston Bruins and offer up Nikita Zadorov. The Boston defence has been lacking a towering defenceman with a physical presence and Zadorov fits that bill.

Macfarlane went on to say, Zadorov is signed to a one-year deal, the Flames might have to sweeten the pot, but it could be a starting point in their conversations.

Zadorov, 26, has a cap hit of $3.75 million, does not own a no-trade clause and will be a UFA at the end of the season. His cap hit is close to what DeBrusk makes. DeBrusk is an RFA at the end of this season and has more of an upside than Zadorov, so if a trade were to happen, the Flames will likely have to add a draft pick for a potential trade to happen.
