Patrik Laine
Patrik Laine signs 4-year, $34,800,000 contract extension with Columbus. His contract includes a 10 team no-trade clause.

NHL trade rumors had floated around that the Columbus Blue Jackets could trade Patrik Laine if a new contract could not be worked out this offseason.

Those rumors can be put to rest as Laine has signed on for four more years with a Blue Jackets salary cap hit of $8,700,000 per year.

His new contract does not have a no-trade clause this year, but has a 10 team modified no-trade clause in the final three years of the deal.

Can Laine now have a 50 goal season playing with Johnny Gaudreau?

Laine, 24, was drafted 2nd overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1st round of the 2016 NHL entry draft. Over a career that spans 6 seasons , he has a total 327 points in 407 games played, and 16 playoffs points in 24 games played.
