The Ottawa Senators are looking to add a forward and they could trade for the Sharks Tomas Hertl, Rangers Ryan Strome or Blackhawks Dylan Strome.

The Ottawa Senators finished off last season with a 9-2-1 record and GM Pierre Dorion is hoping to have the Sens contend for a playoff spot this coming season.

Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports the Senators want to make another move or two to either add a veteran centre or another forward to the mix after making a couple of additions on defence this offseason.

Garrioch added, Erik Brannstrom could still be a trade chip in these trade negotiations if the organization tries to make a deal. Ideally, they’d like to get a winger that can play in the top six or another centre to move somebody to the wing.

Garrioch went on to say, the Senators have held talks with the San Jose Sharks about centre Tomas Hertl. New York Rangers centre Ryan Strome may make sense if the Rangers trade for Eichel. Chicago is also trying to move centre Dylan Strome and Ottawa has shown mild interest there.
