Tyson Barrie rumors
NHL trade rumors for June 11, 2022 feature the Edmonton Oilers looking to trade Tyson Barrie to free up salary cap space.

The Edmonton Oilers would like to improve their goaltending for next season and the only way for them to do that is to trade a contract to free up Oilers salary cap space.

NHL trade rumors were floating around at the NHL trade deadline about Edmonton trying to trade Tyson Barrie to get some cap flexibility.

Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff states the Oilers like Barrie but he is the one player that is tradable and will create the cap space needed to either re-sign Evander Kane or add a #1 goalie.

Barrie is an elite power play specialist and he has demand on the trade market. Oilers prospect Philip Broberg is NHL ready and can pick up the slack if Barrie is traded.

Barrie, 30, has two more years left on his contract with an AVV of $4.5 million. He accumulated 41 points ( 7 goals, 34 assists ) in 73 games played last season.
