NHL trade rumors for January 15, 2022 have the Detroit Red Wings shopping defenceman Nick Leddy. The asking price is a 2nd round pick.

NHL trade rumors roundup for today have the Detroit Red Wings likely to trade Nick Leddy at the NHL trade deadline. The Wings have played well this year but sit seven points back of the Boston Bruins for the final playoff spot. ( The Bruins have four games in hand.)

Frank Seravalli of the Daily Faceoff reports for the right asking price, say a second round pick if the Red Wings eat part of his $5 million cap hit, there will be considerable interest in Leddy, who has won a Stanley Cup and skated in four Conference Finals.

Seravalli went on to say, Leddy, 30, is dependable, steady and can chip in the odd point from the point as a capable second unit power play guy.

Leddy is a solid option on the rental defense market. He will be an UFA at the end of the season and does not own a no-trade clause.

The Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs, LA Kings and St. Louis Blues will have interest in a Leddy trade as they are seeking defensive help for a long playoff run.
