Boston Bruins targeting UFA’s
CSNNE.com: Joe Haggerty reports defensemen Kris Russell, James Wisniewski, Justin Schultz and Luke Schenn, along with winger Jiri Hudler, as five remaining unrestricted free agents who could help the Boston Bruins if their asking prices come down. The Bruins have around $8 million in salary-cap space and still need a veteran top-four defenseman and additional scoring punch.
New York Islanders trying to trade Jaroslav Halak
ESPN: Joe MacDonald is reporting at some point the New York Islanders could trade Jaroslav Halak to clear salary-cap space, even if it means only getting a draft pick in return.
The Isles need to free cap space but if they expect a team to take on all 9M over the next 2 years I doubt that draft pick will be very high. Probably 3rd rounder at best.
