Tampa Bay Lightning looking to make trades to cut salary
SI.com: The Tampa Bay Lightning still need to re-sign Nikita Kucherov and with only $8 million is cap space left, GM Steve Yzerman needs to make some moves. Most of the speculation centers upon goalie Ben Bishop ($5.9 million) as a cost-cutting trade candidate, Allan Muir believes defenseman Braydon Coburn ($3.7 million) is a better choice, listing “the New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche” as clubs that could use him. He also suggests blueliner Jason Garrison and Valtteri Filppula as options.
St. Louis Blues looking for the right deal to trade Kevin Shattenkirk
Yahoo Sports: The St. Louis Blues would still like to trade defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk, but only for the right deal. Shattenkirk only wants to play for an eastern conference team which is making a trade a little more difficult.
Radim Vrbata going back to the Arizona Coyotes?
Arizona Sports: Craig Morgan reports agent Rich Evans, who represents former Arizona Coyotes winger Radim Vrbata, claims he’s spoken with four NHL teams. Morgan said it’s believed the Coyotes could have some interest in bringing Vrbata back.
