Arttemi Panarin NHL Trade Rumors January 2, 2019
The New York Rangers will target Artemi Panarin if he is available in the off-season.

Latest New York Rangers trade rumors

TSN 1200: Pierre LeBrun was on the radio discussing the New York Rangers. He believes the New York Rangers will target Artemi Panarin in the off-season if he does not re-sign with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

LeBrun also feels the Rangers could target San Jose Sharks defenceman Erik Karlsson in the off-season. The Rangers have a ton of cap space and can afford to sign Panarin and Karlsson.

“The Rangers really loom large because they’ve kind of taken a knee here the last year-and-a-half, and have created cap room and haven’t done much. They’ve been un-Rangers like because they’re rebuilding. But believe me, I think there’s a desire to continue to rebuild and have all of those young players in New York, but at the same time have some of that salary cap muscle too. So they’ll be a team to watch.

Buffalo Sabres looking for scoring help?

Buffalo News: Mike Harrington reports the Buffalo Sabres have to make some moves with the current roster they have.

Buffalo fans want GM Jason Botterill to make a trade but it’s just not that easy in the salary cap era. And GMs tend to hold on tight until the 2019 NHL trade deadline. Botterill is obviously using his phone for more than ordering pizza and wings but you’ve got to have a willing partner and meet the price.

Buffalo could target the likes of Los Angeles’ Jeff Carter, Minnesota’s Charlie Coyle or St. Louis’ Brayden Schenn to help improve the teams scoring woes.
