Michael Frolik NHL Trade Rumors December 31, 2018
Will the Calgary Flames trade Michael Frolik?

Michael Frolik days as a Flame could be numbered

The Score: It appears Michael Frolik could be on his way out of Calgary after being a healthy scratch for the second time this season.

“Many people in Calgary have been reaching out asking why Michael Frolik is a healthy scratch,” Walsh said on Twitter. “Keeping one of the team’s most efficient and versatile forwards in the stands marginalizes and devalues a great team player. Head coach’s attempt to run a good player out of town?”

Frolik has seen his offensive production decline in the past few years.
The offseason acquisitions of right-wingers Elias Lindholm and James Neal are partially responsible for Frolik’s diminished role this season.

Frolik has seven goals and zero assists in 22 contests and is playing five minutes less per game than he did a year ago.

Latest Artemi Panarin trade rumors

TSN: Artemi Panarin’s agent, Dan Milstein, said the two will discuss the future of the Columbus Blue Jackets winger over the All-Star break.

“As far as the contract, he’s genuinely happy right now in Columbus, things are going well for the team and for him,” Milstein told Leafs Lunch on TSN Radio 1050 Toronto. “He’s having a good time, he obviously likes the organization, great coaching. We have decided to meet up during the All-Star break to sit down and talk about different possibilities and what the future may hold.

Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said last month that the team has not looked into trading Panarin, adding their goal is to re-sign the winger.

Insider Bob McKenzie said in November he could draw a salary above $10 million on his next contract.
