Alex Pietrangelo NHL Trade Rumors December 28, 2018
Will the Toronto Maple Leafs make a trade for defenceman Alex Pietrangelo?

Latest St. Louis Blues trade rumors

STLBluesToday: Jeff Gordon reports GM Doug Armstrong is listening to trade offers for defensemen Colton Parayko and Alex Pietrangelo as well as winger Vladimir Tarasenko.

Gordon believes now is not the time to trade for more high draft picks and more prospects. If the Blues trade proven talent, they must get proven talent back.

Pietrangelo is under contract for one more season, with a $6.5 million salary-cap hit. While that lack of contract length is a negative from a trade standpoint, Pietrangelo arguably is one of the best all-around defensemen in the league.

Gordon reports the Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in Pietrangelo and he states he would want Mitch Marner back in a trade. (That will never happen) Gordon thinks since the New Jersey Devils got Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson, the Blues should get a young star back for Pietrangelo.

Gordon feels Carolina would be the best landing spot for Tarasenko and would want Sebastian Aho or Andrei Svechnikov in return.

Latest Carolina Hurricanes rumors

TSN 1050: Darren Dreger was on the radio discussing the Carolina Hurricanes and how GM Don Waddell is searching for more scoring help.

The Hurricanes were interested in William Nylander until he re-signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Waddell does have interest in
Kasperi Kapanen. Kapanen is in the final year of his contract and can the Leafs afford to re-sign him to a new deal where he will likely command a $5 million/year contract.
