The Winnipeg Jets have had a disappointing season. Time is running out on the season and they will likely miss the NHL playoffs. This means, changes will be coming to the team and NHL rumors have Mark Scheifele being moved in the offseason.
Darren Dreger was on TSN and reports there’s an appetite for change for Scheifele, and I don’t know if it’s from a players perspective, a club perspective, a fan perspective, a media perspective but it appears Scheifele needs a change of scenery.
Dreger went on to say there will be significant change in the Winnipeg Jets organization if they do indeed miss the playoffs. With Scheifele being the odd man out as they plan on keeping Pierre-Luc Dubois, Kyle Connor and Blake Wheeler’s contract is not tradable.
Scheifele does have a very salary cap friendly hit of $6.125 AVV for the next two seasons and he does own a modified no-trade clause where he can submit a list of 10 teams he does not want to be traded to.
