It was reported yesterday that the Winnipeg Jets will look at making changes in the offseason and the one player that could be traded is Mark Scheifele. NHL trade rumors are starting to circulate that the New York Rangers have interest in an offseason Scheifele trade.
Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports the New York Rangers are in a precarious salary cap situation with key player after key player due for a new contract in the coming seasons. One player that the Rangers may not be able to retain is Ryan Strome who is a pending UFA and will command a big raise.
Walker went on to say, maybe Winnipeg’s Mark Scheifele, whose remaining two years on his contract at an average-annual value of $6.125 million could be doable for the Rangers.
