TSN 1050: Bob McKenzie was on the radio and he was asked the question, what are the Toronto Maple Leafs going to do with Joffrey Lupul? McKenzie is not totally sure? McKenzie speculates Lupul could be on injured reserve for the year, he could show up to training camp and have a productive year. No one really knows until the Leafs start training camp. The Leafs would love to trade Lupul but his salary and injury history make him a tough trade.

Shattenkirk could command over $6 million annually next summer on the open market, which might not make sense for the Blues. It’s believed that Shattenkirk’s unwillingness to sign an extension in Edmonton nixed a potential trade between the Blues and Edmonton Oilers, yielding speedy forward Taylor Hall.
Dmitry Orlov close to signing a 1-year deal with Washington
Washington Post: Multiple sources saying the Washington Capitals and RFA defenseman Dmitry Orlov could be close to completing a one-year deal. The Capitals have around $3.45 million in salary cap space. A deal could be for around $2.6 million. The Capitals will need some cap space for an extra forward or an injury call-up during the season.
