NHL trade rumors had circulated that if Filip Forsberg was not going to re-sign the the Nashville Predators that the Calgary Flames would have serious interest in the pending UFA if Johnny Gaudreau does not end up re-signing with the Calgary Flames.
That rumor can be put to bed as Forsberg has signed an 8-year contract extension with the Preds.
Forsberg has agreed to an 8-year, $68,000,000 contract with a Predators salary cap hit on $8,500,000 per year. There is no word is he has a no-trade clause or not.
GM David Poile does not like to give out no-trade clauses so it will be interesting to see if he caved on Forsberg’s contract.
