NHL Trade Rumors are starting to swirl around that the New York Rangers will be looking to trade Pavel Buchnevich.

Former TSN insider Frank Seravalli is reporting Rangers GM Chris Drury has engaged in conversation about the possibility of moving Buchnevich this offseason.

Buchnevich is coming off a career season, where he collected 20 goals and 48 points in just 54 games – a 30-goal and 72-point run over an 82-game stretch.

Buchnevich, 26, is a restricted free agent and his arbitration award, at a minimum, is well above the $4.54 million walkaway rate – and any arbitration award would walk him to free agency.

New York has the cap space to re-sign Buchnevich but they also need cap space over the next couple of years to re-sign Mika Zibanejad, Adam Fox, Kaapo Kakko and Igor Shesterkin.
