Picture of Noah Hanifin. Will the New Jersey Devils make a trade for Hanifin?
The latest NHL trade rumors have the New Jersey Devils interested in a Noah Hanifin trade. The Flames will want Dawson Mercer in return.

The New Jersey Devils are one of the Stanley Cup favorites for next season. NHL odds makers have them ranked with the fourth best odds to win the Cup for the 2023-24 NHL season.

Devils fans feel they need one more top four defenseman on their team to be a legit threat for the Stanley Cup.

Will the New Jersey Devils make a trade for Noah Hanifin?

NHL trade rumors are making the rounds that the New Jersey Devils could target Calgary Flames defenseman Noah Hanifin.

Hanifin has let Flames management know he will not sign a long-term deal when his contract is up next offseason.

The Flames will have to decide, do they trade him now if the right offer comes along or make a trade at the NHL trade deadline and hope he stays healthy along with having a productive season to get the most trade value.

NHL trade chatter has the Calgary Flames wanting Dawson Mercer in a Noah Hanifin trade.

What are NHL fans saying about a possible Noah Hanifin trade to New Jersey?

If I am Flames management I make the Hanifin for Mercer trade ASAP. The dude put up 56 points (27g, 29a) in 82 games and he is only 21!

I do not trade Noah Hanifin until the trade deadline. That is when the Flames will get the most value for him.

What a mess the Flames organization is. Gaurdreau, Tkachuk, Toffoli leave. Now Hanifin wants out. I do feel bad for Calgary fans.

  1. Trade Hanifin to Boston or Pittsburgh for a first & second. Late rd. picks they should go for that. & if Flames can’t draft a player out of that mix, they should get a new scouting dept!

  2. This is stupid!!!

Dougie Hamilton & Jonas Siegenthaler have 5yrs left on their contracts. Siegenthaler is 1 of the leagues best Dmen. John Marino has 4yrs left & was fantastic against other teams top players last szn. Kevin Bahl is 6’5″ 230lbs of shutdown big hitting nasty Dman with a big slapshot. Then there’s Luke Hughes & Simon Nemec. Seamus Casey had a huge rookie szn. At the WJC’s Topias Vilen was Finland’s #1 Dman. What about that says we’d want Hanifin?? Just walked away from Graves & Severson because they’re going to be big long term contracts. Hanifin is about to get a big long term contract. We’re set in NJ & we’re set in prospects

  3. Please make this trade! Hanifin is not coming back, Devils will not be able to afford Mercer when his ELC is up. Works for both teams.
