Mikhail Grabovski has signed a 1-year contract with the Washington Capitals.
Grabovski, 29, spent the past five seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he posted nine goals and seven assists last year in a lockout-shortened season.
A six-year veteran of the NHL, Grabovski had signed a five-year, $27.5 million extension with the Leafs in March 2012, but was then bought out by the club in July of this year after a post-season campaign where he was playoff-worst minus-10.
