Zach Boychuk has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes said the deal is worth $550,000 at the NHL level and $105,000 at the AHL level.
Boychuk, 23, was claimed off waivers three times last season and skated in 13 total games for Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Nashville. He also played 49 games for the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers and 23 goals and 20 assists.
The native of Airdrie, Alberta was a first-round pick (14th overall) of the Hurricanes in the 2008 Draft.
He has eight goals and 12 assists in 85 career NHL contests.
