Will the New Jersey Devils trade P.K. Subban? If he is available the Boston Bruins will have interest in a trade.

Earlier this offseason NHL Trade Rumors was reporting New Jersey Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald was looking to trade P.K. Subban.

Subban struggled to four goals in 44 games this season and isn’t contending for the Norris anymore, but he still logged big and important minutes for the Devils. He might fit better into a lesser role right now.

With one year left on his contract, Subban makes $9 million against the cap so the Devils would need to retain salary to make any trade realistic.

Some reports have the Boston Bruins interested in a Subban trade. More teams could become interested in Subban if the Devils were to retain a sizeable portion of Subbans contract.

A trade for Subban and the return will all depend on how much salary is retained in a trade. Subban is owed $2 million in actual salary this season, plus a $6 million signing bonus (which has already been paid out by the Devils).
