Jaroslav Halak

New York Islanders goaltender Jaroslav Halak needs surgery to repair a sports hernia and faces a six-to-eight week recovery.

Halak was unable to dress for the Islanders in the playoffs due to a groin injury. Halak suffered the injury on March 8 and did not dress again during the season.

In 36 games during the 2015-16 season, Halak posted an 18-13-4 record with a 2.30 goals against average and a .919 save percentage. Halak has two years left on his contract at a $4.5 million AAV.

There are nhl trade rumors going around that Halak could be traded this summer.
