The Florida Panthers are one of the best teams in the NHL and they will be expecting a deep playoff run. NHL rumors circulating have the Panthers interested in a Jakob Chychrun trade.
Last month there were rumors floating around the Panthers were interested in a Ben Chiarot trade but it appears their #1 target is to complete a Chychrun trade.
Elliotte Friedman was on Jeff Marek’s 32 Thoughts Podcast and reports the Panthers are very much interested in a Chychrun trade. The Panthers do not own their 2022 first round pick as it was used to make a trade for Sam Reinhart in the offseason.
Friedman went on to say the price will be steep to make a trade for Jakob Chychrun. Friedman and Marek figure it will take Spencer Knight, Anton Lundell and the Panthers 2023 first-round draft pick for a trade to be completed.
If the Panthers are serious about a Stanley Cup run, they will have to give up those assets to acquire Chychrun, if not, another team like the Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers or Washington Capitals will be all over Chychrun at the NHL trade deadline.
IF the Panthers can trade for Chychrun, they will be the team to beat in the playoffs.
