Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, after taking a day off, it is back to posting the latest NHL trade rumors. Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Last week rumors were floating around that the Edmonton Oilers were interested in defenceman Jakob Chychrun but could the Oil target Phil Kessel instead?

Jim Matheson reports the Oilers should look at making a trade for Kessel if the Arizona Coyotes were willing to eat half of Kessel’s contract. Kessel has won two Stanley Cup’s, proven he can play with stars, obviously, in Pittsburgh and would provide secondary scoring.

Matheson went on to say, the Oilers would likely just have to give up a second round pick for Kessel. He has 17 points in 29 games. If the Oilers can make the money and acquisition cost work, is it really a bad move?
