NHL rumors are starting to float around that the Arizona Coyotes could look into trading Jakob Chychrun. It was rumored that he was untouchable but with the Coyotes in a full rebuild, the Yotes can land a bunch of assets for a Chychrun trade.
Elliotte Friedman was on the Jeff Marek Show and stated, that Chychrun is a highly sought after defenceman and has a very team friendly salary cap hit of $4.6 million with another three years left on his contract.
Friedman went on to say, Chychrun is in the prime of his career, his value will never be higher than it is now. Friedman confirmed the Coyotes are taking calls on Chychrun and the asking price is massive.
At the end of the radio bit, Friedman said, there is a lot of interest in Chychrun and teams are willing to meet a big asking price for the Dman because his contract is so team friendly.
Currently Jakob does not have a no-trade clause, his clause kicks in on years 2023-24 and 2024-25 and it is a 10 team no-trade list.
Update: It has been reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the team interested in a Jakob Chychrun trade.
